How to use pearl pigment powder to get good results?

There are roughly two ways to use it. The first is to mix it with water-based or oil-based resin or film-forming agent for direct spraying.

The other is to add it in water-based or oil-based paint and then make it colored and complemented, when the pearlescent effect is relatively weak.

Pay attention to the particle size of pearl pigment powder and the aperture of spray nozzle. If the particles are too large and the aperture is too small, the spray gun will be blocked. When mixed and left for some time, the pearl pigment paint will easily precipitate. So, it is necessary to shake it again before coloring, so that the sprayed pearlescent paint will be more uniform.

To change the color from dark to light, you often need to first spray a layer of white leather paint to cover the background. But in many cases, the background color is too deep to cover and thus will be revealed. Spraying it too thick will make it less aesthetic, affect the handfeel, or result in other problems.

With just a little 1,200-mesh silver pearl pigment powder added to the white leather paint, we can spray it to effectively cover the dark color without any revealing.
